In January 2016, he was featured in the song Electric, which also featured Alina Baraz. He also released the song in Atlanta called Location. Khalid acquired much inspiration from Kendrick Larmar, A&AP Rockey, Father John Misty, Frank Ocean, Grizzy Bear, Chance the Rapper, Lorde, and India. Therefore, he achieved the Top 10 on the US Hot R & B Songs, outlined on the 21st of January, 2017. He was ranked number 20 on the US Mainstream R & B/Hip Hop Airplay graph. In 2016, he released the song Area, featuring artists like Sky Sense, Tunji Ige, and Smash David. His song was positively highlighted in many productions such as Billboard, Yahoo, Buzzfeed, and Rolling. In July 2016, he was ranked number two on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists outline. Khalid began his music career while in secondary school, where he presented his first work at SoundCloud. He also studies singing and musical theatre while in high school. While in high school, Khalid worked as a supply technician and later became a member of the army chorus. He moved to America’s High School in El Paso, Texas, where he completed his senior year. Khalid attended Carthage Central High School in Carthage, New York, for three years before transferring to another school. ![]()
